Scene Edit - Timer

I cannot edit an existing Timer in a Scene. I try to update it by changing the days it should activate, and press Save and all indications are the changes are saved, but when I look at the details no changes are actually saved. I tried deleting the Timer and then re-adding it, but the original timer does not delete even though the system indicates it does.

Vera is very tiresome, basic things like this should be rock solid at this point.

Still can’t… Nothing get saved…
Are you guys back from vacations?

I have the same problem. The only way is to delete the whole scene and redo it.

We did recently find and fix an error. If the scene had an ’ or other special characters in the name, they weren’t properly handled.

It would be very helpful if someone would contact tech support (chat or phone) when they can produce this problem, because then we could see exactly what’s causing it and be sure it was fixed already.

My experience is that whenever you make a change to for example the trigger time of a timer and then tries to save the change it always reverts back to the old setting. No matter what label you have on the timer or scene.
Can’t you reproduce this at Micasa?

/Mats

Exactly - do ANY possible change to an existing scene, save, refresh and check that your change is gone. Happens every single time

We actually cannot reproduce this, other than creating scenes with non-alpha characters in them. You can upgrade to this firmware: http://download.controlmyhouse.net/betafirmware/wl500gP-1.0.456.trx by choosing advanced, download and putting that in the ‘url’ field. This has the fix for saving scenes. You can see if this firmware fixes the issue for you. For me, I’ve tried at least 50 times to edit timers/events and save my changes and it works every time. If, with the 456 firmware, it still doesn’t work, please enable verbose logging (advanced, logging), and then reproduce the problem by trying to change a scene and save it. Afterwards, click advanced, tech support and submit a trouble report and post the report id in this thread. I’ll see what save data was received and try to track down the cause

I upgraded FW to 1.0.456, tried to delete timer, when failed tried to simply change timer time - every time after Save the old data is back. Scenes changes just don’t get saved. It’s Firefox running XP SP2.

Submitted trouble report 296.

Could it actually be the browser that is the problem?
I am having this saving problem with Firefox (3.0.5) in Linux, both with 1.0.426 and 1.0.456.
What browsers do you run your verification with at Micasa?

Same here - Linux and Firefox 3.0.5, scene save issue observed with 426 and 456 fw. I believe I also had this issue with Firefox 2.0.17…

I see the same problem also in Windows and with IE.

/Mats

We test with IE, Firefox, Chrome and Safari on both Windows and Linux. We have a Mac too, but only do occasional testing on it. We have seen problems with the new IE8 beta, but we haven’t messed with it since it’s beta and appears to be an IE issue. We have a new firmware ready to release, hopefully tomorrow if it passes the test sequence. If it still happens, we really need someone who has the problem to contact our support, by IM or phone, so we can look at the logs and see what’s going on.

Just tried to delete a timer - DOESN’T WORK! Timer is not deleted after refresh.
Submitted support report 301 - please try to look at it.

Saving does not work for me neither (in 1.0.487).
I submitted a report on the old 1.0.456 yesterday, through Micasaverde.com->Support->Contact Tech Support, and a new one today on 1.0.487.

325xi, This I could reproduce with the data from trouble report 301. We’ll fix it on Monday. If you need to delete a timer, let me know, and on Tuesday I can give you a firmware link that will do this.

m_gustafsson, this is something I can’t reproduce; it’s browser specific. I left you a voice mail and sent an email this morning. The other thing that would help in the meantime is to submit a trouble report through Vera (Advanced, Tech Support), and send me an email with the report ID. If you do the trouble report that way, then I have a copy of your logs+database and can better diagnose the problem.

After upgrading to 1.0.491 it seems like I am able to save changes to my timers.
Thanks for the support Micasa!

1.0.491 seems to have remedied issues with Timers for me. Now issue is that only Scenes for the First Floor of my house show up in Scenes.

Can you please click advanced, tech support, submit a trouble report, and post the report ID to this thread? Let me know what OS/browser you’re working, and I’ll have the web guy fix whatever’s causing this tomorrow. BTW, when you said “Now issue is”… Are you saying that with the prior version you didn’t have this problem?

I have already submitted a trouble report, but did not note the number down (I think it was 304, but not really sure). I did have this problem with prior version, (1.0.488 and 487). I am using Firefox in OSX. Firefox in Windows does not exhibit the same issue (I just tested it).

I will resubmit if you need the number. Let me know.

Thanks for the support, system is much improved in past week for me.

I’ve submitted report 317 for the following bug.

I’m trying to setup an event, that when my entry light is turned up to full brightness, it will revert to dimmed level after 5 minutes.
However I cannot select the device to monitor
