Scene delay doesn't run if I make a change to Vera?

Hello,

I am new to all this and I have a question as to why my scene doesn’t run after my 5 hour delay. Here is what I’m doing… I have my Christmas lights turning on 30 minutes before sunset (which works great) then I have a 5 hour delay after which they are supposed to turn off. This works great as long as I don’t do anything in the vera (basically anything that requires a reset). If I do go into the Vera add a device, make a change to a trigger (not related to this scene) and do a reset (at least I think it’s the reset that’s causing this) my lights don’t turn off. Is this normal behavior and I’m just going about this wrong? I’m just curious as to what is the best way to get my lights to turn off.

Thanks!

This is normal for Vera … Not for you or me!
ALso there is no way to stop the timer once started … Say you want it to extent to 8 Hours! … except to restart vera … witch extends it until you manually shut it off.

Use PLEG it does not suffer from a restart of Vera during the interval.

Richard,

Once again, thank you! Good to know about PLEG. Looks like I have some more reading to do!

…or use two scenes, on/off using the schedule option .

@royr
Scene’s will not provide what is needed, i.e. to schedule at 5 hours after the first event.
You will need an additional plugin like PLEG/PLTS or Countdown timer.

You can do this with two scenes if the on and off are at exact times.

My bad, I obviously suffer from bad reading and comprehension skills! :slight_smile:
