Scene Buttons Not Mapping at all or correctly on Minimote

I searched through the lighting and load control forum, but couldn’t find if there was a guide to mapping the scene buttons properly on the Minimote using Veraplus. I saw that around this time last year, folks had a problem with the latest firmware. Is that still an issue?

My issue is that only one of the buttons (button 1) maps correctly and works. I’ve created scenes for the other buttons, but they don’t seem to work. I created a scene on button 2 and 3, but when I push button 2, scene associated with button 3 is activated (sometimes). When i push button 3 or 4, nothing happens. I’ve unpaired and paired the device and didn’t get any errors on the Veraplus. Is this a UI7 issue? Wonder if PLEG will work better.

Thanks,
Steve

My VeraPlus includes two Minimotes. I do not use Vera’s UI7 scene editor to create scenes for anything–instead I use PLEG. The two attached screenshots indicate current mapping between button presses (both short and long) for Minimote A and “scene numbers.”

Realize that the Minimote has 8 “buttons” each button as a short press and a long press. Sometimes the Vera UI will display the shirt and long, sometimes it will only show button 1-8, depending on the version of the minimote you have (I would definitely update the firmware on your minimotes if you haven’t ever done that).

First when you add a minimote let it sit for a while and sync up correctly (1-2 minutes) before you ever go into the device in the UI, it can take a while since the minimote is actually a secondary controller for everything to get initialized correct

If your Vera UI is showing just a 8 button list (if it is only show 4 you need to delete and re-add and answer the number of buttons as 8)

The the mapping is
1, upper left short press
2, upper left long press
3, upper right short press
4, upper right long press
5, lower left short press
Etc.

Eureka! I was going about it all wrong. I was setting up a scene using the Minimote Scene button as a trigger when I should have been setting up a Manual Scene and then assigning that scene to one of the buttons via the device options. It’s working perfectly! I just needed to re-wire my brain to think right and you guys helped.

The firmware can be found below. It’s extremely simple to upgrade it.

I have 4 on UI7 with the latest firmware and all show the 1-short, 1-long etc button assigments.
If during inclusion it asks you to specify the amount of buttons, exclude it and try again as it was not recognized properly.

Got my Minimote a couple of days ago, updated the firmware as others have suggested and within a few minutes had it paired and a couple of scenes attached to it with the help of everyone on this forum.
Thanks guys.
