Samsung air conditioner with a wi-fi

Hi,
I am looking to buy an air conditioner and I saw the new Samsung wi-fi air conditioner…
Is it possible to integrate it in my Vera system?
Thank you in advance.

Not sure how to answer this, would it be possible to provide additional details (model). Is the wireless built-in or an accessory ? Is there an associated thermostat (Wireless) or is this system similar to Honeywell’s Redlink (cloud as a service). Above all, if an API exists then a plug-in can be developed or you could simply use luup code.

this is one of them…

I am not sure how they work, but I see an applications for iPhone and android for Samsung air conditioner with a wi-fi…

The Thing System shows support http://thethingsystem.com/dev/supported-things.html and I found this doing a Google search - http://clockwerx.blogspot.com/2013/01/hacking-samsung-smart-air-conditioners.html. So I’d say yes, one could definitely control this unit via Vera. Another alternative is Tado which I’ll be trying once they release the unit, hopefully soon. It will have an open API and allow control of a unit. However I’d opt for controlling the Samsung directly using their API (whether published or not) without the need for additional appliances.

Also looks like someone wrote a Perl script (client)… https://gist.github.com/freman/e7568c625545629b6466
If a developer has a Samsung unit (for testing) and would be willing to port the code over, you’re good to go !

Hi,

I’ve got the same Samsung air conditionner.
I will be interested too ;).

+1

Ive got the Samsung Smart Wifi AC runnign too! I would just love to integrate it into the rest of my system.

Hello,

I have found this : somebody has made a ruby script.

Here is the link of the source code :

I am not good enough in programming to translate that in lua  .
