running openLuup-Vera & PLEG

Having successfully installed openLuup on a RP2 and logged into the AltUI, I have a question about sharing the work load.

I’m running UI5 on a VeraLite, simply because it works with PLEG.(all my automation is PLEG)
I’m not able to update to a Vera with a Gen 5 chip as there isn’t one available in our regional frequency, so it’s the Lite for us until Mios (or another manufacturer provides an alternative).

I don’t need to move any devices over to the RP2 as yet, so I was wondering if I can add devices on AltUI(RP2) and control them on the Vera Lite(PLEG) by adding in the RP2 UI and coding in Vera?

Has anyone done anything like this?
Have there been any pitfalls as I don’t want to fix something that is otherwise working.

Take a look at the suggestions thread… http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,34476.msg274586.html#msg274586

…we’re talking about the bridge being able to mirror some openLuup devices on the Vera.

I don’t understand how you want to share the load between openLuup and the VeraLite if you don’t transfert some work on openLuup.

All of this is a very big experiment.
First is getting to use a RP2 with hands on experience, secondly to explore openLuup.
The third part will be to explore adding a Z Wave daughter board to the RP2, hopefully using openLuup and doing away with Vera.
This part I’m not sure of, but there is a lot of knowledge on this forum and if it’s possible then this is most probably the place to be.
It’s all good to have idea’s but one needs to have an appreciation of the OS in order to do this.

My initial intention with the current setup is to move some devices to the RP2 and maintain the logic (PLEG) on Vera, I’m not sure if this is possible but only time will tell.
