RFXtrx plugin version alpha 8 released

Hi,

i received my VeraLite today, and installed the rfxtrx plugin as well. Now I want to add X10 devices to it, but as far as I can see right now, this isn’t possible.

When I go to the device creation tab, there is no textbox after the housecode label, so I can only type in a unitcode. I even tried it with just a unit code, hoping that it would assume housecode A, but then I received an error message that a housecode A-P has to be filled in…

So am I doing something wrong? Or is it a bug?

Have a look at the attachment here.

Thanks… installed that Json file, and now I can add my X10 devices…

Figured out that when I press a button on my remote that it will be added by Vera as well, so that’s another solution :wink:

Hi All,

Many thnaks for this plugin - i have working well with LightewaveRF 2 gang light switch.

I am trying to get the PIR detector to show in vera but no joy - any one managed this able to offer some guidence? I have associated it with a switch and this has not made it appear?

All devices are reporting in C, anyone know how to change it to F?

Hi Puck404,

I dont follow? whats the issue and I shall see if I can help.

Thanks! I bought a RFXrec433 and also a THWR800 to monitor the temperature of my hot tub. I installed the software on vera to get it working and everything went without a hitch. It is reporting the temperature back to vera but vera is giving the temp in Celsius and i would like it in Fahrenheit. Any way to do this? I also have an indoor thermometer reporting to vera the same way and that is also in C. Maybe I should move to Canada?

I live in a metric world, you’re in one of the last bastion of an imperial system…

Go to the rfxtrx parent device (e.g. RFXtrx controller device) and click on the spanner located in the top right, in the Settings tab, you can change between systems.

The other way is to download rfxmgr http://rfxcom.com/admin/Downloads then plug device into the computer and change settings.

If you have a indoor thermometer either check the device setting and Goto Setup > Location and ensure Temperature format is set to your liking!

Thanks!!! I kept trying to do it by device. Worked like a charm. One last question, for the oregon scientific weather and temperature devices, how many can you have? All of them say to put them on a different code but there are only 3 frequencies to choose from. I already have one in my hottub, one in my house, can I only add one more?

Depending on the model you buy, you could have ten. See Oregon Scientific: Unveiling Innovative New Gadgets and Exclusive Deals

@lolodomo

Thanks for your plugin. I use it for some climate devices and it works great!

Your Plug has the options AdjustMultipler and AdjustConstant. I would like to use them to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius. I have an old temperature probe that has no hardware switch and only reads Farenheit. All my other temperature probes are Celsius, which is the Default here.

When I use the AdjustMultiplier (0.56) and AdjustConsant (-32) I get as result 7.2 degrees at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Could you add an option (reverse multiplier/Constant) in a future release? This would be a usefull option for people with a mixed setup like me. This would give me the correct room temperature (21.1).

Another question is about Vera Device categories. I have Temperature, Humidity, Rain and Wind-sensor devices created by your plug in. The Humidity, Wind and Rain devices appear in the Vera device category Other. Humidity, Rain and winddevices don’t appear in the Vera Climate Device category, which consists only of temperature devices. Is this because of Vera or because of the Plugin? Can you change your plug so that they appear in the Climate category in a future upgrade?

Mark

By default temperature devices are put in climate category while humidity devices are put in sensors category. It is not done by the plugin but by MCV. I will not change that. Regarding the devices specific to the plugin they are probably put in other category. I could put them (wind and rain) in another category, either climate or sensors.

@lolodomo

Thanks for your answer. I personally would like to see Wind and Rain on the Climate device Tab, although the Sensors Tab would also be okay.

Could you help on the Farenheit to Celcius conversion , If AdjustConstant would be executed first, before AdjustMultiplier, it would work out of the box?

Quick Question… I seem to have a couple of “noisy” devices knocking around… Think I need to find a better outdoor PIR than I currently have.

However, at the moment, everytime they broadcast a dodgy ID, i am having ANOTHER device created. Is there anyway to turn off the auto device creation?

So I bought the rfx along with one water temp monitor and one interior temp monitor. When I installed the app it created 5 devices, one is the master, one is the water, one is the indoor temp sensor, but the other 2 I have no idea what they are, they give temps but I have no clue from where, any idea?

You should have at least a parent device, two temp sensor and one humidity. As to the fifth unknown…

Set the variable autucreate to 0.

I have to find a way to trigger each of the two formula, something understandable by users.

Does the humidity report as a temp?

No, they appear as Tfx Hum…
