Ya I think I got something that wasn’t ready to ship right here. 
And what are the main uses for the USB port on the Vera? I’ve never needed it myself. I tried it once to log to, but stopped. Not saying there aren’t great uses for it, like insteon integration (which I attempted but became frustrated with, I posted a couple times when that was going on).

I’m confused. Are you saying that the Revolv, you are testing(?), is good or better than Vera or are you saying something different?

Oh no I still haven’t gotten the Revolv yet, I will certainly share my experiences as soon as I do (of course following any stipulations they may or may not have on the beta program and writing about it).
I’ve been a Vera Lite user for around 3 years and I have about 25ish devices.

Data logging, interfacing to Alarm systems, converting anything that needs RS232 or RS485.

Everything you are saying is true. But it seems like compared to the level of effort required to bring a device like this to market, having Android support on day one wouldn’t be a big deal. I’m not trying to argue just excited to see some new options for home automation.
Smartthings also came to market without an Android app. While the market may very well tell us that iPhone users spend more money, the Android users tend to be more tech savvy and more likely to experiment with things like automation. They also tend to be more vocal in with the displeasure of technology out here in the Internet world.
Coming to market w/o Android support is missing out on an important segment of the market and just seems foolish to me.
@joey52685 - I agree, it seems likely that the additional cost of adding an Android app to an already expensive overall project would not be that big of a deal. But, I don’t know how much they had left, how much the app would actually cost to develop, or most of all, how much more it would cost to provide support for the Android app. I suspect that the additional support cost would not be linear or trivial.
@dferrey - From what I see, it appears that Revolv’s walled garden is specifically and purposely avoiding that “more likely to experiment” segment of the market, at least for the time being. The experimenting and extensibility aspect is a support headache that many companies don’t want to deal with.

I agree it would be nice to have it on both devices on start but it is very expensive and risky taking a new product to market. As Z-Waver was mentioning it is proven that people on iOS are more likely to “PAY” for apps vs android users, which they could use the money from the iOS app sales to pay for the development of the Android app.
Look at Vera, I have always used a third party app to view and control it on all my mobile devices.
