I just recently purchased a vera 2. Once installed I noticed that any computer on my network is able to have full control of the vera 2 without any login credentials. This is a huge security risk. I have read that before UI4 you could setup local accounts to block access, but it appears that ability has been removed in UI4. Does anybody have any ideas how to secure the Vera on my network so that my kids on their computer don’t start screwing things up?
You handle this from cp.mios.com. Log in to your account, click on “Settings” for the Vera2 unit you want to edit and then select the yes radio button next to “Require local http authentication” and then click on SAVE.
You are good to go. Then you setup the user accounts from the cp.mios.com screen as well and you are golden.
Thanks for the response, It’s a little difficult when the settings are in more than one place. It was an easy fix though.
