Req: more flexible menu grid

Would it be possible to make the menu grid more flexible, and maybe even make ImperiHome sync with something like dropbox?

I was thinking about making a floor plan the background, and then freely place stuff around. That would be a killer app in my view :slight_smile:

Using dropbox to sync settings would make it possible to have several pads/phones sharing the same setup at all times.

If you have iOS, you should look at HomeWave. It can do both.

The dropbox piece is nice if you want to copy your work to another iPhone rather than set up all over again.

Hi,

Fully flexible layout may come in the future but unfortunately not on a short term, as we have many other priorities we want to address before.
However, if you have ideas of additionnal fixed-layouts, we can add them quite easely : do not hesitate :slight_smile: (but this won’t satisfy your floor plan need :()

About syncing, you can already export/import configurations and send them by e-mail. Not the top-best syncing method I know :wink: We will think about integrating with third party storage.

How about making one that’s like 30x30? That would at least work like a short time fix :relaxed:

Erg our widget would have to fit in 1/30th of the screen space :s I doubt that this would make something useable itsn’t it ? :s

hehe - that was an extreme example, but just by making it larger and make rooms into widgets you could click on the icon for a room to get to a new page with 4x8 or something like that. Actually, making widgets for each room would be one of my top requests apart from the free placement.

How can i modified the Imperihome widgets layout.
I have in the lounge room 8 lamps and 4 thermometer and 2 thermostat. The fix layouts is max. 12 units :frowning:

What I would most like to see is that a dedicated small row of tiles made available…

So you would have say 12 tiles as normal
but a page changer row at the bottom…
these would be half size tiles and would multiple in number as you add page jumps

You can’t alter the layouts right now but you have several different ones to try. However the biggest contains 12 tiles (4x3). What would you suggest ? 4x4 ?
