Does anyone know how to sense temperatures using strap on pipe sensors? we want to monitor our pool temperature and thinking of adding solar heating as well. would like to monitor water in and water out of the collector but i haven’t found any boards that can be used with remote sensors.

Would be really great if it could control a couple of relays or 2-10 vdc valves

i know there is an intermatic controller that is available, but besides being $700 it doesn’t really appear to be user friendly with vera. i was thinking maybe a little more universal

The answer depends on how handy you are.

Options:

  1. Use a Basic Stamp or Arduino with Maxim OneWire temp sensors.
  2. Use a simple PLC like an Aromat FP0 (eBay, free programming software)
  3. Pay for simplicity.

That’s the best I have for you. I prefer #1 because of the infinite possibilities.
