Hi,
I’m doing new constructions and was planning on buying a handful of switches, dimmers and scene controllers. Any recommendations on which brand/models to go with for the least headache?
This question has been asked and answered many times. I highly recommend you browse through the forum.

Whichever brand you choose, make sure that have wiring installed that supports those switches. Every brand seems to have a different wiring scheme for secondary switches. You might also need to double-check your electrician. I specified a neutral in ever box, but ended up with a bunch of dead-end 3-way circuits and boxes with no neutral.
These are popular and reliable choices.
GE/Jasco On/Off Switch
GE/Jasco On/Off Switch 3-way kit
GE/Jasco Dimmer - Not recommended for LED lights.
Evolve LMR-AS Dimmer Works with dimmable LEDs. Matches above GEs.
GE/Jasco Wireless Keypad Controller
GE/Jasco Handheld Remote
I highly recommend that you look into Leviton or Cooper switches if you want instant status support. Instant status is very important when being used in scenes. For example if you want to have other lights turned on when you manually press a switch for one light, the other lights will be turned on almost instantly.

Each of these switches seem to have good points and bad points. I like the way the Jasco’s LED can be programmed to be on only when the switch is on; this lets me know from inside that I’ve left the outside lights on. But I wish it had instant status. The Leviton has instant status, but I don’t like the push toggle at the bottom. I’d prefer it be like standard Decora toggle switches. Check out the Homeseer light switch comparison page.
Can’t you now also use the aeon labs SES?
