I’m curious what the resets do to the router part of things.
I get that vera home automation type configuration stuff is in the backups that we can create. And that you can factory reset and that stuff gets nuked and you can restore from the backups.
I also understand that what the z-wave dongle has paired is a different database (I assume held in memory on the dongle itself?)
But What parts of the router are getting nuked from a reset?
I tried out the flash UI and then reverted last night so I had to do the factory reset and restore.
So the internet settings got wiped, the devices SSID and wifi key reverted to the sticker values on the back. Made sense.
But I also had customized the router in the advanced menu some. I set some firewall rules to forward a few things to windows home server I have and then stealth the rest of the ports. And I also had told the DHCP server to assign ‘static’ ips to the windows home server and a print server I have. The weird thing is all the firewall rules stayed but the static dhcp entries had gotten wiped.
so is the router side not getting totally wiped when we reset?
