I have a New Vera3 ordered now & should be here by Tuesday so I am as new as it gets to this LOL.
Im not sure I can do anything with my existing Surveillance System but thought I would ask anyway.
I have a system that consist of two Q-See QT Series 16 ch DVR’s with around 20 cameras (Not all Q-See) all analog using either-net Balums accept for two PTZs which are using BNC connections.
Is it possible to integrate this type of system with the Vera3?
I have an 8ch Gadspot DVR (which sometimes is Q-See software) but I am not able to find and routes to individual cameras that my DVR supports, only the software that the manufacture provides works on my PC or needs IE with a plugin, but I use IPCam Viewer ( IP Cam Viewer – Android « Hit-Mob.com ) on my tablet and phones with supports tons of cameras (and now provides a video server feature I think, which I have not played around with).
You might be able to find some here with your system ( Connect to Q-see cameras ) and see if the URL is supported with the cameras that you can add to Vera.
I didn’t have any luck with getting my cameras in Vera, but didn’t really expect higher end features for what I paid for my DVR. I am waiting for some of the Axis Video Servers (expensive!) to become available through upgrades with my work and I might be able to port the video through that maybe
Thanks for the suggestions I actually did search first because it is so much trouble to post in this community searching is actually easier than posting.
Once I start setting it up Ill really try to figure this out but if I can’t make it work I can still use the current Mobile access since it would be very costly to replace existing systems being as large as they are.
I was hoping to integrate for more automation though.
Looks like there will be a large learning curve to this project.
