proven wall scene controllers for UI7

I have tried ac couple wall mount scene controllers with no luck. Would like something with at least 2 scenes + load control, or 3 scenes.

Anybody have something up and definitely working with Vera?

Its for a garage. i want to control bank 1 of lights (local load), bank 2 of lights (zwave switch driven by scene) and turn Sonos on.

With the latest software on the edge, I have the levity vizier RF 4 button scene controller working. It’s supposed to have scene on and scene off separate commands, but I only have the scene on working, which is good enough as I use the button to toggle the state of lights so it doesn’t matter

I am on a vera lite, but I would ASSume the UI7 firmware updates would be similar.

BTW, I have the enerwave 7 button working for scene on, but can’t toggle the state.

Not for everyone, but if you have any INSTEON devices, then get an ISY and use the ISY plugin. You can get an 8 button KPL (KeyPadLinc) and with the plugin each button can activate 4 actions:

  1. on
  2. off
  3. fast on
  4. fast off

The also have a dimmer or switch in them you can use. I personally use the dimmer for lights and then do things like on and off will control a light or scene but a fast off will “shut down a room” (via pleg actions or a scene). It gets a bit harry when you also use scenes in the ISY, but its not so bad. So far my favorite scene controllers are Insteon KPLs. I also get the added benefit of using FanLincs (fan/light dimmer/controller that goes in the canopy in the fan). Gives me a dimmer for the fan light AND fan speed controller and I can control them via the KPLs.

edit: just realized this said “UI7”…I think the ISY plugin works on UI7, but I’m not sure.

Maybe nobody in the know has responded yet, but Isn’t it a bit ridiculous that simple 4-8 Button Z-wave wall scene controllers don’t exist and easily integrate? Why is it so hard to have a button on the wall activate a vera scene in UI7?

I have a couple of the Leviton zone controllers (better than the scene controllers) working with UI7 perfectly. The instant status is great and allows you to take advantage of “double presses” of buttons for even more functionary. There’s a lot of posts about these zone controllers.
