Problems with Vera app and Fibaro RGBW

Hi all,

Great stuff to be found here.
I live in southern spain, smart homes are pretty new here and i am some kind of pioneer here.

I have recently started my HA project, so far i have control over:
Controller: vera edge
3 blinds, using fibaro roller shutter 2
2 lights, using fibaro relais switch
1 lightbulb (aeon rgbw)
1 fibaro wall plug
1 fibaro smoke sensor
1 fibaro motion sensor
1 fibaro door/window sensor

I will slowly include more devices.

2 problems i have encoutered so far, maybe you have any ideas?

Closing any of the blinds using the app is not working, while opening is working. It also works when closing it directly on the control panel, when i create scenes with the blinds and when i use it in away/night modus. I tried veramate as alternative app, and it is also working smoothly. Is it a bug in the vera app?

Things i tried:

  • Calibrating the devices again

Any ideas?

I was not able to include a fibaro rgbw controller for my ikea led strips.
I tried:

  • automatic inclusion
  • manual inclusion with b button
  • manual inclusion using in1
  • resetting the device to factory

Before i send it back, any suggestions what else i can do?

Highly appreciate your opinions.

As noone replied so far:

I sent back the RGBW controller for a replacement. Lets see.

As far as the blind control: This seems to be a bug in the generally pretty buggy vera app.

keep us update! i having the smart problem on fibaro roller shutter

I have two Fibaro RGBW controllers with no issue. I have used it in both UI5 and UI7. You may have a defective one.

I just received a Fibaro RGBW controller today and your posts got me worried that it wont work with my Vera Edge. I’m happy to see that some people have it working. I will give it a try during this weekend and will report back with my findings

Sorry for late reply:

  • The rgbw controller was defective, new one is working fine.
  • Controlling the blinds (close) still not possible from vera app, working fine from mobile website and vera mate.

I don’t have those devices, but just as a general comment, I’d say that VeraMate is a much better option than the MCV app… Are you using the beta version of the vera app? if not, that may be worth a try. There’s a link to register for the beta Here. I still much prefer VeraMate, but the MCV beta is pretty useable too
