Problems pairing Aeon Labs DSB05 multisensor with Vera Lite UI7

All,

I am having trouble getting the DSB05 multi-sensor paired with my Vera and was hoping someone could offer some advice.

I have four of the MultiSensor DSB05’s and I have been trying to get them to pair successfully with my Vera Lite running UI7, firmware 1.7.760. At one point I had them somewhat successfully paired, but Vera kept telling me it was waiting for the device to wake up to configure it. I decided to upgrade the firmware in the hopes of getting the sensors to function more reliably but after I upgraded the firmware Vera could no longer see the devices, so I deleted them from Vera and ran an exclude against each sensor and tried to re-pair then and they would not pair. So I did a full restore of my Z-Wave network prior to when I first tried to install the sensors.

Per Aeon Labs instructions I am attempting to pair them in the location that they will be used in. Bringing the Vera to them (on batteries). After Vera indicates a successful pairing I leave the Vera and sensor in close proximity for around 10 minutes and then I push the button on the sensor 3 times to wake it up and leave them together for another 10 minutes. After I plug Vera back in and access the webpage, the sensor shows up, but I don’t get readings from all the sensors, (humidity, temp & Light) they are there just blank.

At this point I have removed the sensor from my network and done another full restore of my network pending any recommendations from the forum members.

Does anybody have some insights as to what I may be doing wrong or steps I am missing to get them to pair successfully and for all sensors to work?

TIA

Gordon

UPDATE:
DSB05 must be updated to 1.18 via OTA only. It isn’t capable of usb updating as found here:

I know this is several weeks old, but per Vera and our last firmware update, it is broken. Not sure who is responsible, but there is a firmware update for the aeon labs unit? I am checking to see if there is.

Also, you will need UART drivers for USB updating

I’m not CERTAIN that the information is correct, but I cannot get mine to recognize in the USB port as of yes, it powers up, and I can pair it to the controller and unpair as well (but it doesn’t complete configuration as outlined in the vera update patch notes)

I did some more research on this and found that some have had success by using different USB cables. I got a Z-Stick and haven’t been able to find an app that will access the unit as of yet. Per the website (correcting what I posted above), it can be updated over USB as well, maybe it is a matter of finding the right USB cable.
