Problem with thermostat triggers and scenes stopping...

I have written many lines of code in Luup to have one thermostat control two other thermostats. However, ever since I upgraded to UI7, when the Mode is switched to heat or cool, the scene is no longer triggered. I’ve tried whatever I could think of, including recreating the triggers, but nothing seems to work. The strange thing is that the scene is triggered when the Mode is changed to Off, but not when to Heat or Cool. This used to work perfectly with UI5. Anyone knows why?

Second major issue I’m having is that when the nightly heal process runs, it seems to stop any running scenes. As I mentioned above, I have one thermostat controlling some other thermostats, and this requires my scene to run constantly every 10 seconds for many hours at a time. When one thermostat is controlling another thermostat and the scene stops, you could have bad consequences. For example, last night I woke up in the middle of the night because the temperature had risen to 90 degrees, because the scene had stopped and the upstairs thermostat failed to turn off the thermostat that actually controls the heater… On UI5, I had turned off the nightly heal and this problem was completely resolved. However, I can’t do that with UI7. Is there anyway to turn off the nightly heal? Or at the very least, have it not stop any running scenes?

I think you are going to have trouble on UI7 regardless, maybe flip you scenes so they run every few minutes, look at the status of the main thermostat and update the state of the dependent thermostats accordingly. Probably more reliable then triggers or long running delays, and the good thing is, if a cycle is missed it will catch up a few minutes later on the next scheduled run.

These are VERY basic functionalities that seem to be broken. Why wouldn’t the Heat and Cool modes set off a trigger anymore? It’s just crazy how broken UI7 is. Also, people could have all kinds of scenes running in the middle of the night. They must implement a solution to prevent those scenes from breaking every time there’s a mandatory heal. I’ve emailed their support too. Hopefully they’ll have a solution.

I’ve just about had it with Vera. If I didn’t have soooooooo much time and money invested in this crappy product, I would have been long gone by now.
