I have a hallway that has 3 light switches. I replaced one of them with a GE z-wave switch. The switch has a traveller, so it will work on a 3 way switch but. If I shut off a regular switch and then turn it back on, the lights turn on for a second before the GE switch turns off.
Do all three of the switches have to be GE switches, or is there a way to keep two of them “dumb” switches?

You need two more GE 45610 to complete a 4 way switch setup. (which is 3 switches and light or lights) they are not as expensive as the main.

Z-wave 3 or 4 way switches communicate threw z-wave and have a power and common running to each switches to power them up. You dumb switches don’t use a neutral on the switches and use the traveler to reverse the power. Different setup.
