My name is Andrea and i am new to the community here. I have bought a Popp electric strike lock control device compatible with Vera and i thought that even if it is not officially supported by Vera that some other electric strike lock would be present (or at least find info) so that i could make it work. I have managed to pair the Popp Strike Lock Control with my Vera Edge and it does see it as a lock with a lock / unlock switch (see attached pic) that does nothing? What can i do to make this work?
I’m also very interested in this product for my building’s exterior door and from what I’ve seen the tricky part is getting the wiring right for opening the door, so it might be that Vera is doing things fine but your existing physical lock can’t understand the command…does the PCB have a LED like other such zwave devices and if so, does it light up when you attempt a command from Vera?
Just managed to get this WORKING!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Unfortunately Vera was no help >:(. However i got in touch with support from Popp and asked them if they had any info regarding paring it with Vera Edge. He said sure so i started doing my research. I changed the battery in the diagram with a ac to dc transformer as with the battery i couldn’t get the electric strike to work. i reset the device and deleted it from my Vera Edge. I paired it again and the Popp Electric Strike Control shows up as a door lock with a key pad. First time the switch shows unlocked and then it just stays at a “locked” state without ever returning to unlocked. At first i thought this was an issue with how Vera identified the device but soon i realized that it stays locked as it opens up for just a few seconds before locking again. All in all very happy to say i could be the first customer to make this work with Vera. No changes where required in the parameters. Also below is the conversation i had with Popp support as this could be of assistance to you!

Is there polarity on the electric strike side?

Hello,
We included the device via the “Generic Z-Wave device inclusion”. The device was connected to a 9V Lithium battery (non-rechargeable) the whole time.
The gateway created one widget to control the lock.

Can you please provide instructions on how you did this using only battery power?

Hello,
We tested a Strike Lock v1.5 in a Vera Plus v1.7.3532 and the unlock and lock procedure worked.

Hi, I bought a Popp electric strike lock and I would like to know how to make it work on my Vera Edge as it is recognised as a lock with a lock and unlock switch which does nothing. Vera should just release the electric strike lock for a few seconds for the door to be pushed open from the outside. Is there anything I can do to resolve this?

Nice to know it works. I was typing an electric lock troubleshooting comment when you posted. Can you see if there is anything the parameters for adjusting the strike time (the time it unlocks before re-securing itself)? When you tell it to unlock does it always unlock and then resecure after a few seconds or do you have the option to tell it to unlock and stay unlocked? In the access control world we can usually have both “momentary unlock”, which unlocks until the strike time expires and then resecures AND we have “unlock”, which just unlocks it until told otherwise by the controller. I’d love to know if it can do both.
I may need to contact popp and see if they have any plans to put it in the US market as I would love to use this device!
