When I poll a device i know it updates the device status and queries a few other items from the device. When I get status I can put it into a veritable for scripting.
Tell me if I am wrong but polling is getting the device status from the device itself and getting a status is getting what the status vera thinks the device is in.
Thank you. I poll critical devices once a minuet, about 10 b cause I trigger scenes based on the status of those devices. One example is the printer in my office. Once vera sees the printer on it starts a timer to shut it off after ten minuets. However lately it has stopped working. I even deleted the scene an recreated. Since it worked perfectly for months I assume the poll has no effect on the scene once triggered, or could it be that the timer is re triggered with each poll?
I’m not sure where you are setting the polling, but vera can only go around to the devices so fast. if you have alot of devices it takes longer. And in vera UI settings polling is set to poll not less then… it could be alot more then a min.
I poll ten devices once per minute using a scene. The rest are set at the default and polled at whatever timing vera uses. It worked perfectly for months then stopped. I can get it to work perfectly at ten seconds but not ten minuets.
