Plugin to connect Vera to Vista 20p via Total Connect

I installed a Vera two and a Vista 15P or 20P (heck, I don’t know. The schematic list about four different numbers) security system shortly before I deployed to Afghanistan. The security system does have the GSM device on it that allows access to the Total Connect account. I used the Vera to unlock the kwiset on the door to the garage when the Garage door was opened, and to manage the outside lights. On at dusk, off at dawn.

I’m expanding the use of my Vera adding an LM20 to control the garage door, and a door sensor to monitor the status. I have a NEST Thermostat and installed the plugin just for the purposes of monitoring it and I got to wondering why we couldn’t develop a plugin for Vera that would access a Total Connect account in a similar manner. I just want to be able to Arm/Disarm my system on certain events. Time of day, Garage door opening, etc.

Any thoughts?

So, no thoughts on writing a plugin to interface Vera with a Honeywell/Ademco 20P Via Total Connect Account?

I would think there would be to much of a delay having to go through the total connect web servers and does the total connect even show sensor status? There is already a solid plugin for the ademco vista panels using the AD2USB module, I would just go that route.

I’m not sure delay would that big a deal. I can arm/disarm my system with my Total Connect and the delay isn’t significant to me.

Through some EMails with a Subject Matter Expert I did discover that the probability of success with this is likely high but it depends on discovery of the Honeywell Total Connect API.

The AD2USB module would require running additional wire which I’d like to avoid.
