Hi! I’m just getting started and have been doing alot of reading. I have a Honeywell vista alarm panel that I want to connect to a Veralite controller. I just got an Envisalink 3 but it looks like there is no plugin for Vista systems, only DSC. Does anyone know if a plugin is in the works or should I just get a AD2USB adapter? Thanks!
I think someone posted in another thread that the DSC plugin works. Sorry, I’m not positive. You might try a search.
The DSC plug in will not work with the Honeywell. There is no plug in that interfaces with the Honeywell and the envisalink 3.

Hopefully someone is working on it. I would like to setup a wireless connection between the Veralite and alarm panel using a router and the Envisalink. I can’t do that with AD2USB.
Unfortunately, I am not aware of anyone working on a plugin that interfaces with the envisalink 3 and honewell alarm panel.

Envisalink haven’t release the Honeywell TPI publicly due to technical issues.
Spoke to Envisalink tech support. They said the Ademco TPI should be released in the next month or so.
Any news on this? I am trying to get my vera to work with the envisalink. I load the DSC plug in and it sees the sensors, but it does not see them being tripped…
As stated above, the DSC plugin will not work with the Honeywell and there is no plan to make it work (that we’re aware off)
Its strange, put the DSC plugin on and I got the envisilink installed, Vera sees it, sees all the sensors but does not see the trigger of the sensor. I have a vista20 and its working.
Vera is not seeing the sensor but generated the sensors based on your input. So effectively, the Vera app is not working for you as it is not communicating with your alarm at all.
Well this sucks is there any way to make a vera work with a Honeywell? The whole reason I bought the envisilink was to monitor the existing sensors.

Yes, the AD2USB adaptor with the AD2USB ademco plug-in, works great

As always, for Ademco users, you may get a LRR (103) trouble on your panel after a firmware update. Just clear the trouble by entering your user code+1, twice.

Yes, the api is available. Roll up your sleeves and get started on creating a plugin for the Honeywell and Envisalink3! The only way one that will get created is either you write something, another forum member who has both and want to tackle the task of getting it integrated creates a plugin. Most if not all of the plugins that were written by the community members were written to benefit them and they were willing to share. It is not often you see someone on here create a plugin for someone else out of kindness of their own heart.

Well for me My panel is across the house so running a cord to the unit would not help much. I used a wireless bridge on the evl-3 to skip running wires. I guess I could move the vera to the alarm, get the ad2usb and bridge it that way and remove the evl-3
Hadn’t been on here in a while. Good to see the API was finally released. Let’s hope somebody with coding skills has the same setup as bobafett and I. The eyez on service is cool but it would be awesome to be able to integrate all my door and motion sensors into Vera.
I struggled with some of the same issues and came back to report on some progress. First and again I want to thank the contributors that developed the plugin for the AD2USB device. I am still in awe.
Anyway, as with most people, my biggest issue was to get the vera lite close enough to the alarm panel for connection and also have electricity and internet access. At first I was achieving the internet access via my uverse wireless receiver that was close enough to be able to run a cable from the back of the device to vera. I had a problem with this solution because each time I went on vacation, apparently the lack of using the television would break the internet connection and I would lose visibility when I wanted it most.
So, I decided to try the powerline adaptors that use the home’s electrical system to transmit the internet. So far, I am VERY happy. It comes with two devices that plug into the wall electrical socket. I plugged one in near my router and connected it to the router with an Ethernet cable. I plugged the other one into the extension cord I was using to power vera (in my alarm closet) and ran an Ethernet cable from that device to vera. So far it has been stable and it was extremely easy to install. I purchased the ultra 500 for $40 at tiger direct. I was a little surprised it worked so well since my house has three breaker boxes and they suggest that can sometimes cause the two units to not communicate with each other.
