Plugin for Connected By TCP LED Bulbs

I’ll try to get it uploaded in the next week (away on business travel). In the meantime, you can use the fix posted above.

Let me know if it doesn’t work for you.

Version 2.1 has been submitted for approval. Should be available soon.

V2.1 is now available on the app store.

Hello guys, I am having the same issue others reported. I can ping the get way and get the normal reply. Also, I have downloaded and installed the latest 2.1 version. My gateway has this version 3.0.80. I have added the IP address and the MAC address with no luck. Still says “No gateway IP address specified, pairing failed”. I am new to VeraPlus. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

A couple things to try:

[ol][li]Did you follow the steps at http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_tcplighting, especially pressing the green button for pairing?[/li]
[li]Are you set up to view your log file? If so, can you post the lines containing the text “TCPLighting”[/li][/ol]

Thank you very much for your quick reply though it is a holiday. to answer your questions:

  1. Yes I did press the green button on my gateway before pressing “pair”
  2. As far the log, I am still new to VeraPlus and trying to find my way. I can only say, in the Logs sccreen, there are many options such as showing polling and there is an option that is checked “Archive old logs on MiOS(recommended” but I have no idea how that works yet. Also, I have mounted a USB drive to store logs to it and it is enabled but still do not know how to retrieve logs.
But from when and after I am trying to pair the error under Gateway Error “No gateway token extracted, pairing failed - HTTPS status=200 - Gateway RC=404” that is all I could see for now.
I will keep playing with it and will update post.
I think this is belo is what you are asking for: her is what I see in the log but I have removed the ip address from the line and replaced with “?” and it is from the start of pairing to end.

    Thanks again.

Is it possible that you recently purchased your Connected By TCP kit? If that is the case, it is also possible that your unit is still running the pre-installed firmware and has not performed an auto-upgrade to the firmware version that the 2.x plugin uses. This is because TCPi has discontinued their cloud service (see #1 LED Lighting Manufacturer - Custom Lighting & Light Bulbs | TCP).

You can check the firmware version of your gateway through the TCPi Lighting mobile application. On the Android version of the app, you do this through the “System Information” screen under settings (the wrench icon on the main screen).

If you have a gateway firmware version prior to 3.0.74 (mine has 3.0.80), try manually installing the v.1.0.2 plugin as per the instructions on http://code.mios.com/trac/mios_tcplighting

Thanks again. I actually have my connected by tcp quiet a while and I think I had mention in my first post that my gateway has version(3.0.80) and the only reason I purchased VeraPlus is after I did some search and found your plugin. and by the way my VeraPlus has the firmware version 1.7.2138. Additionally, both Gateway and VeraPlus are on the same network and the same hub. When I ping my gateway, I get a reply with no problem indicating time of 1ms. I am just stumped why VeraPlus is not able to pair with the gateway. I followed the instruction. Installed the latest plugin 2.1. I have manually entered the IP address of my gateway and Pressed the Green Button on the gateway and then pressed pair on the VeraPlus UI and with no luck. could it be it is due to the VerPlus new firmware?

I would like to report and after several attempts. finally my gateway and VeraPlus are paired. I do not know why but I just kept pressing pair after I pressed the Green button and voila, I can see all my lights in the UI. Thank you very very much.

I just saw exactly the same behavior on my VeraEdge while I was trying to see what might be going wrong.

I’ve got some personal commitments to deal with the rest of today, but I’ll dig deeper later this week. If I can figure out some sort of pattern to the behavior, I might be able to add some auto-retry logic.

I appreciate your dedication and commitment. Now that I have got all my lights sync’d. No rush and thanks again. Great plugin.

I’m now having this exact problem, I’m on Vera 1.7.919 and TCP Lighting version 3.0.80 and the plugin version 2.1. I’ve tried both auto discovery and inputting the IP address of my TCP Gateway in the advanced tab, and get the error “No gateway IP address specified, pairing failed”

I had this working on UI5, did an upgrade to UI7, which failed so now I’m slowly re-configuring everything.

Cheers,

Paul
