Plugging in Vistacam PT automatically loads lua files, reloads vera

Sometime ago I moved all my cameras to Blue Iris, including 2 vistacam PTs.

As such, I wanted to remove the associated plugins and then deleted the devices. Now, every now and then (like if there is a power outage), these two cameras show up as new devices automatically (but unconfigured).

I asked Vera support to fix, as I assumed some of the original code they used to get these working in the first place (another story) was still on my machine, and thus why the devices where showing up again.

Alas, the problem never went away. Today, after unplugging/replugging the cameras back in to get them working again, I notice Vera immediately did a restart, saw that it was downloading luau files… and then the devices showed up again. Look in apps, and there is a “Winton zcam IP Camera” plugin loaded. If I uninstall the plugin, and “hardboot” the cameras again, the plugin just reinstalls automatically.

My first problem is to figure out why I keep losing the cameras in the first place (checking MAC and static IP settings)… but aside from that, what could prompt an automatic plugin install when powering one of these cameras up?

There are quite a few LUUP files that could be related… but I’m uncomfortable deleting any of them without knowing what they do.

Still on U15. Any suggestions, other that (a) get rid of the cameras, and (b) call tech support again?

Tech Support response for anyone that wonders in the future:

Vera unit automatically detects the new devices (such as IP Cameras) that are connected by it?s IP Address. You can disable that option by going to Setup → Net & Wi-Fi and uncheck ?Auto detect devices on my home network?.
