I do not think your schedules would ever turn false if you do not specify a off time ? Or do they turn false at midnight ?
I will try to move my schedules from PLEG to the Vera schedules, to see if that cures the problem of schedules not turning off/false. Not what i want, but if it works it would be a temorary fix at least. Will let you know how i get on one i’ve done it
It’s quite alright to have Schedules without an off time. They become true briefly when the on time is reached. Their timestamp refects when this occurred.
Leant something again. I did not know that. Interesting. So it only briefly stays true, not all the time until midnight ? So i could do a on schedule and a off schedule, see if that works better as most of my schedules only turn multi switches on/off so that i have a manual control too
Leant something again.Well that's good, then.
So it only briefly stays true, not all the time until midnight ?Yes.
Do all the Schedules that are giving problems run through midnight? Have you tried setting separate Schedules for the Bypass and Arm Conditions? e.g.
Schedules
D2300 Start-Type: Weekly 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 Time: 23:00 Stop-Type: None
D0700 Start-Type: Weekly 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 Time: 07:00 Stop-Type: None
Conditions
MotionBypass D2300
MotionArm D0700
I’m not suggesting it can only be done this way. It’s a diagnostic step.
As I recall all the ones that have given me problems have crossed midnight.
I have not tried separate schedules but I’ll be happy to do so as an aid to diagnosing the problem. Assume I will change the one in question today and report back tomorrow on the out come.
Can you folks post the Timer descriptions that you have problems with. It might be nice to see if there is a pattern.
Also if you have any other timers in the SAME pleg/plts that share the on/off time … it would be nice to know.
I have a couple of test cases I have coded … And have not seen the problem yet … So I am still trying to figure out what is happening.
I tested with 30 simultaneous on and 30 Off Timers. But they were all at different times …
I had sent my status reports and debug logs from my old Vera lite to you. I can redo the status reports if that helps and post them here, but i have not changed much (if anything). I think at the time you said i had some error from another PLEG which you were investigating
I am not looking for the status reports …
I am looking for the timer description for the failed timers … as well as the NON failed timers that might be happening (on or off) at the same time.
what do you mean by timer description ?
these are the timers in my HVAC pleg, where most if not all the errors occur:

I have so far never had a failed timer with check_Window, HWOnWD1, HWOnWE1, HWOn1. I do not think i had a failed one in WD1, WD2 or WE1 either. Nor in the self trigger timers.
All other timers have failed on occasion, but they did turn true, just did not turn false when they should have.
My other PLEG has only one schedule, but i have not noticed anything strange on that one
Dark Weekly +00:05:00t 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 None Weekly -00:20:00r 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 None false 2014-01-14 16:20:40
Not sure if that is what you wanted ?
Richard, FYI, there was only one schedule running in the PLEG in question, the one that started at 23:00 and ended at 07:30. At your suggestion I have divided that into two, one starting at 23:00 and the other starting at 07:30.
@clippermiami
And you had the same problem as Mike … the OFF did not fire ?
You might try a single timer but use an OFF interval of 8:30:00 instead of an absolute time of 7:30 the next day.
The problem seems to be with the Absolute time OFF schedules.
The fact that it works sometimes (Most times ?) is what has me perplexed.
Mike,
So your Study, GuestBed, and Lounge timers have failed … None of these cross the midnight boundary. So that rules that out.
Also there does not seem to be any other timer interacting at the same time.
Exactly, and the heat timers have failed at times too.
Some of your Schedules don’t have any days shown for the weekly off times. Is this just a transcription error?
I think the ones you are refering to are the self triggers, where the off time is after 4:05 minutes
HWOnWD1 Weekly 04:46:00 1,2,3,4,5 None Weekly 05:26:00 None false 2014-01-15 04:46:00 HWOn1 Weekly 16:31:00 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 None Weekly 16:50:00 None false 2014-01-14 16:31:00
I see what you mean. I have to check that when i am home, my browser here does not display the schedules, i can only get the status report. If there is anything missing, i will change it, see if that might have caused a problem.
Well spotted

Richard, thanks. I’ll try the current split schedules for a few days and then revert to your suggested interval approach.
John
I have checked the schedules in question, they all have proper off times, i dont know why they did not show in the status report
they did not have the days ticked on the off schedule. Maybe that has caused a problem. Error corrected, i’ll monitor the PLEG to see if the problems persist
I am not sure about the schedules yet, but just had an action (condition was true) which did not run the associated scene. So the problems i had were unfortunately not down to the missing off days in my schedule
The actions not running is a different problem … Do you have a log for that ?
