It seems like the problems never cease with Vera. As soon as I solve one problem, another one or two arise.
Here are my latest list of problems that I have yet to solve despite trouble tickets and calls to MCV support:
- Unable to connect with IE9. I am able to login and select my vera unit. Then I get this message: “Unable to communicate with your unit. Please be sure the unit is powered and connected to Internet.” I used to be able to connect with IE8. I tried clearing my cache and cookies without success. I am able to connect remotely with Google chrome and Safari.
-Unable to remove expired schedules from scenes. I now have 9 schedules that have already passed but I can’t remove them. Do I recall that in the past, Vera would automatically remove them if they expired? I can’t even remove them manually. When I try, vera removes the top schedule from the list instead of the one that I have chosen to delete. I was promised that this would be fixed with the next firmware upgrade, but I have upgrade twice since then and still no fix.
-7 of my battery operated components no longer report neighbors and I don’t know if they are actually even working!! I finally had gotten the ADD plug in to work in recent months and for a few months, all of my components were reporting their neighbors and battery status. After visiting this vacation home > 3000 mi from my home on 4/11 and changing batteries in many (possibly all of the improperly functioning units), 7 of my components stopped reporting neighbors. When I checked the “neighbors” field in the advanced tab for these devices, it is empty. I tried excluding, including and doing “configure now” with several of them before leaving but it didn’t fix this problem. Are they even working?? On my dashboard, they are reporting their armed/unarmed status, battery level and if they are tripped or not but my scene to turn off my AC when any of them are tripped for > 1 min, doesn’t seem to be working.
-I decided to replace my Aeon Labs sensor because their batteries are not readily available and they only worked if I turned off auto configure. I can’t get my new HDS1 sensor to configure despite seemingly successfully excluding, including and quickly running “configure now”. At first I thought it might be a faulty sensor but the above problem suggests that the problem may be with Vera!
-I finally solved the problem of my Schalge locks loosing pins with restrictions (not pins without restrictions) by turning off auto configure. Am I loosing some important function by turning off auto configure? If not, why does MCV recommend autoconfigure for all components?
- I have more minor problems that have gone unanswered but these are my important ones.
-I used to be able to work through these issues by calling MCV. Now their telephone support primarily consists of voice mail or a receptionist who takes a message and promises a prompt response. (Don’t hold your breath!)
This is very frustrating!
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
