Playing music (squeezebox)?

Hey,
I want to be able to play music songs/albums/playlists through my vera system.
I’ve tried to search and I find little information about squeezebox. Is this the system to stick with? What’s most up to date?
Are there any working plugins for it? What do I need to get started? I would like to attach it to my current speakers if possible.

Mmm, ‘squeezebox’ seems to generate a bunch of interesting hits for me, and also refer to other stuff like Sonos.

Having said that, I think @Ap15e was a main driver behind the Squeezebox interfacing with Vera, so those plug-ins may not be available anymore.

Ap15e did come up with a lot of Squeezebox plugins, but the main one (interfacing with the Squeezebox CLI) was developed by javier who has since left Micasaverde. I am now continuing devoplement. Ap15e was mainly interested in using UPnP but the CLI is actually better supported by Squeezebox at this moment anyway. It should work fine and if not I’m happy to patch it:
