I know there has been lots of talk about constant flicker of LED’s on certain circuit types, but I can’t find an answer to my problem. I have 1 LED bulb in a fixture with 2 regular incandecents. They are wired onto a dimmer switch. The LED is “dimmable” When I turn the light on, no matter how high on the switch, the LED will flicker for a couple minutes then stop and stay solid. When first installed, it was perfect, and slowly it is flickering longer and longer before going solid.
Any ideas what the issue might be? is it a faulty bulb? the fixture? switch? I have a few other LED’s by CREE around my house and they are flawless…
Does it flicker after switch-on if you put it on a non-dimmed circuit? If so, reach for the warranty. Else, do you have another dimmer circuit to try it on?
If you can try different lamps on your problem circuit and try your problem lamp on different circuits you should be able to figure out what’s causing the problem. It has been noted that some dimmers and dimmable-LEDs do not play well together…
When first installed, the bulb worked, but now it is taking longer and longer to “warm up”. This sounds like the bulb’s driver is failing or going out of spec. Replace the bulb.
