Philips Livingwhites and Micasaverde?

I have bought the Micasaverde but not yet set it up. So I’m a rookie so maybe I have missed something

However I have just seen some Philips Livingwhites light bulbs that seems pretty smart. But of course I don’t want a remote separately for my lights so does anyone know if it’s possible to set it up with the Micasaverde?

  • The Philips Livingswhites are light bulbs that you control with a special Philips remote - so the light bulbs have some sort of wifi-tech built into them.

I haven’t found any information about if it is compatible with other systems. I can see that Philips uses “Smartlink” technology but Micasaverde uses Z-wave as I understand… do they work together?

I don’t know about the LivingWhites. But I did some intensive research on the PhilipsLivingColors:

Basically my result was that the simplest solution would probably be a Vera Controlled Robot Arm which pushes the remote from philips, that is how complicated is seems to be… ???

Still hoping for someone to come up with a solution.

The LivingColors lights, at least the ones I have, are (exceedingly stupidly, IMHO) not tailored towards Z-wave or indeed any remote operation not involving the Philips remote. Even a very simple use case scenario fails: I basically want to set the light to a nice color and light level, then turn it on and off using a Z-wave switch. No dice: if power is removed from the light, it will enter something like a demo mode when next powered on, and slowly cycle through all available colors. In essence, the thing has no memory (which made me want to strangle the designer  ).

Please note: These are always talking about the first version of the LivingColors. It is written all over the net that this does’t work with the 2. generation which is much more common and also the one which is sold at the moment.

I have some of these remotes at home because I only use one to control my lights. Would be an interesting try to fit some Fibaro’s together with some relays on it. The could be way easier then setting it up by USB. Very very very interesting, gonna start measuring tonight…
