Panasonic BL-C230 questions

Well after a lot of hours online with panasonic tech support we got the camera to work and I can view it from the netcam URL.

I would like to add it to Vera2 so when the door sensor trips it takes either video or still pictures. How do I accomplish this. I would still like to access it on the panasonic URL but I would like it to work with vera also to take still shots when a sensor is tripped.

I have searched WIKI and the forum, but can’t find a newbie step-by-step.

Its pretty easy.

  1. Make sure you have a cp.mios.com account.
  2. Download the plugin form the MiOS marketplace (if using UI4 then click the “+” over on the right of the browser in Vera’s dashboard and click install for the panasonic IP cam plugin).
  3. In the settings tab of the device that gets created, enter the correct IP and any passwords etc that you may have changed and save the configuration.
  4. Check that you can see the camera stream by clicking the wrench icon.
  5. Go back to the settings tab for the camera and click the applicable options for your sensors. (see picture). You can set which sensor triggers it, any lights that may need to be put on and how long to archive for etc.
  6. Save.

I have the camera added, Why wont it show streaming video?

Are you sure you have the right username and password and also that the local IP address for it that you configured didn’t change? Anything like this thats DHCP, you need to set a static address for it to work reliably.

Thanks! Its working but the stream is horribly choppy not like the panasonic server which is pretty good…I see that the zoom buttons wont work…

also where are the archived video and still shots saved?

Ah, OK then thats correct, the present screen is only a “picture” taken from the picture URL… it does however refresh. The next release of the software has streaming support also.

Pictures are currently only archived if you have a notification against a trigger set up in the settings tab. If you know a notification is working then you can view them in cp.mios.com from the calender in the “Archived Images” button on the first page once you log in.

great thank you! I can’t use triggers right now as my system is down. Mios shows no dongle detected and I dont have a dongle with the Vera2. I have a ticket into tech support about this. Thanks for all the help It will come in handy when I set up other cameras

I just saw your other post about it… Bummer but check my reply out!

I have just received a BL-C230. I can get it operating just fine with the included CD and associated software, however, I don’t seem to be able to get it working with Vera using wireless. Using the Panasonic software, I assigned it with a fixed IP address, which I’ve seen suggested in these forums. I’ve also used the recommended user/password I’ve seen in these forums ‘to be compatible with Vera’. When I unplug the CAT5 cable from the camera; flip the switch over to ‘wireless’ and restart the camera, the LED just sits there and flashes amber. It never goes green. Something tells me there might be something wrong with the sequence of things I doing, but it’s not obvious to me.

Has anyone been successful with this camera in wireless mode, using Vera (not Vera2)? If so, I’d sure like to hear from you.

Kind regards,

Michael

I discovered that I didn’t have the correct SSID for my router entered in the camera. Now it works as expected!
