I have just added my camera but I think Vera sees it as a generic camera. The camera is able to zoom. When I go to the “Devices” and click the “+” next to the camera I don’t options that I think should be specific to the Panasonic camera. Furthermore, when I view the camera through Vera I do see the “+ -” to zoom in/out but this has no effect on the camera.
On this page: http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/IP_Cameras
about 2/3 of the way down it says, "In Vera’s setup page click Devices, Luup plugins, Install/uninstall plugins, and click ‘install’ next to either the ‘Generic IP Camera’ plugin, or, if you see a plugin for your particular camera, such as ‘Panasonic IP Camera with Pan/Tilt/Zoom’ use that instead. "
I do not see “Luup plugins” anywhere. This is what has caused me to think I don’t have it set up right.
That version is really old and does not support luup. The earlier versions did support cameras as well, but the documentation you are looking at it for more recent Vera firware. The most recent version, while still beta, is pretty stable. I would consider upgrading to it.
I never setup a camera pre-luup, so can’t help sorry.
I just updated to version 1.0.979. I’m now seeing the Luup plugins, etc.
I deleted the IP camera in hopes I’d set it up with the Panasonic Camera plugin. I went to the plugins and installed it. I then went’ to add a Device → Camera and Vera didn’t detect it.
I unplugged the camera and rebooted Vera. Then plugged the camera in and refreshed the browser page. Still nothing.
I went ahead and enabled the verbose logs. However, I don’t know how to download/open it if it exists.
I do have an important distinction here: my camera is actually a Panasonic BL-C160A. This camera has a 10X digital zoom and an LED light on it as well as motion detection built in. These are the options that I do not see on the Setup portion for the camera. I can view the camera on the Dashboard.
What I’m wondering is what variables I need to add to have access to these options.
Byron, you don’t have to download/view them. Send from Advanced/Tech Support tab a trouble report and check the box to send logs and configuration to our tech support.
