That program is long gone…
Thanks … not much point in supporting MCV then as I feel I got an alpha product at best. May as well just go for a USB key to persist with Z-Wave which at least is upgradeable.
Seems pretty short sighted to make the offer (which isn’t stated as a limited offer) and then withdraw it.
I thought it was pretty nice of them to offer it at all. I have piles of electronic junk where a better version came out a year later and I was never offered an upgrade path other than buy a new one and toss the old.
Of course, I had Beta VCR’s, Laserdisc players, and DIVX (anyone remember that one? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIVX)

They haven’t abandoned Vera 1 users. I am still primarily using my Vera 1 (even though I have a Vera 2 waiting to replace it) and it is working well. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and the Vera 1 ain’t broke…just upgrade the firmware or don’t if the FW you have still works for you. Just think, if Vera 3 is on the horizon then you’ll be first in line for that.
Same here. I’m still using my Vera 1, even though I have a Vera 2 unit sitting in its box.
Nothing wrong with the Vera 1 in my opinion, and I’m more of a ‘power user’ as compared to most. My unit is stable, the Z-wave dongle has very good range, and is set up in WiFi client mode, which allows for more ideal placement in my home.
Don’t think of Vera 1 as “alpha” or “obsolete”. At least for me, it meets my needs very well.
Why didn’t they give me a discount on my PS3 since I already had a PS2. I just don’t understand. Why didn’t I get a discount on the new 7.1 receiver when I already had their 6.1 I bought just 3 months before. : I think this may be the only company to do such a thing in the first place with a peice of hardware.
