On/off speed from wall switch/controller

Folks… still learning, so bear with me.

one thing I notice is that when i’m installing/testing some new lights/scenes, I can’t just hit a button (for example, on my Leviton) repeatedly. Meaning, turn it on… works great. second later, hit button (for off), and nothing. I have to wait a bit. Same with scenes I may be invoking from the same controller.

All seems good under what would be normal use (as it, I rarely turn something on, then off again that second)… but it does have me curious. is this Normal?

I have a Vera Lite… is this slow response my system?

thanks for whatever insight you have!

(edit)… I will say that things seem instant if I do it from the MIOS dashboard… so it’s only delayed from the switch/controller… if that helps.

Umm are you controlling an actual load with the switch or having the switch control a scene or another device?

Good clarification. Really both. I’m using a Leviton VRCS4-MRZ. even the local load, which (I believe) I’ve associated with the controller (top button), is slow. And the Scenes on the remaining (2-4) buttons are even slower.
