Now nest does hot water I wondered how well it plays with vera?

I’ve been on the verge of getting a hive for heating for some time as I want control of hot water as well. I’m not that fussed about heating talking to vera as I figure it can look after itself and it vera has a fit the house will still be warm. So then I read nest are doing a new version that controls not water as well, hmm this might b interesting and could put it back in the running. With that in mind I wanted to see what experience people have with nest and vera…might be a bit more future proof than hive.

Same question here  … Yesterday I read on a Dutch HA Shop the following: (google translated from dutch):

Finally! It now seems that a good solution is found for the Fibaro and control of modulating thermostat based on the OpenTherm protocol . And no less than the men of NEST will arrange it for us . Not cheap , but nice ! ROBBshop is obviously quick testing!
Availability: mid-December .

So it seems that for Fibaro there will be some solution of integration… Technically it must be possible to integrate it in Vera then as well. Only someone needs to write a app for it.

If you want hot water integrated with Vera along with thermostats have a look at heatmiser neo which is cheaper (UK only though) and I think better looking stats. The advantage there is that the neo has its own programs so will keep working if the Vera goes down , you just use Vera to override it.
