Hi, how do I have Vera alert based on when the DSC partition is in an alarm state. ie: My system was armed, I opened a door in the morning and the alarm went off, I entered my code to disarm…all is good but Vera did not alert me to the alarm state on that the door opened/closed and when the system was disarmed.
I use PLEG to manage my DSC Alarm.
All the various alarm conditions are exposed in PLEG and you can create Conditions for Alarm Disarmed, Alarm Armed Stay, Alarm Armed Away, Alarm Armed Night Instant, Alarm Violated, etc. This PLEG also controls the Blue Iris camera system to set which cameras are active according to the alarm status and if they should record on motion, etc.
Once these Conditions are configured, you can define Notifications in the PLEG for each and set which “user” they will be sent to. If you also use Vera Alerts those “users” can also be “pseudo-users” in that they be configured for such things as Twilio (SMS), PushOver, SMTP, etc.
My DSC Alarm PLEG is configured to send SMS to all the family members’ phones and post to SysLog whenever the alarm is ARMED (and the armed mode) or DISARMED so everyone knows the state at all times.
My wife also tended to simply open the door and walk out so I also wired two LEDs to the DSC Controller PGM1 and PGM2. PGM1 is on when the alarm is ready but not armed (Green) and PGM2 is on when the Alarm is ready and armed (Blue). These two LEDs are mounted on a blank electrical cover plate adjacent to the front door and wired back to the DSC Controller. Now everyone can see at a glance if the alarm is armed or safe before the open the door
