I’ve been noticing quite a bit of lag when receiving email notifications lately.
This being based on no knowledge of how it actually works, but I believe this is what it’s doing:
Here’s the scenario
Day 1: Door manually opened, notification should be sent. No email received
Day 1:User1 enters the door, notification should be sent. No email received
Day 2:User2 enters the door, notification should be sent, all 3 emails received at one time.
The emails are being sent to my gmail account which i then have a filter set to forward to my cell as an sms.
What I believe to be happening is there is a bit of “lag” somewhere in the internet connection, whether it be my internet, or the findvera servers or anywhere in between, but the message isn’t getting received by the server, it appears that vera can tell if the notification was actually successful because it’s triggering all 3 (or more or less) at the same time for notification, hence the receiving all of them at one time.
It’s rather annoying because what originally happened was on day 1, I opened the door for some expected company in the morning then locked it later, then later that day the wife ran out to the car for something and came back in. The following day my friend stopped by the house and used his code to get in and I received all 3. I saw the notification for my friend first, then the manual open, then the one for my wife several minutes later.
