Purchased my Vera3 from an online user (used) on ebay. All the lights come on when plugged in. I went to pair a few devices that I recently installed by plugging the unit into the battery but nothing seems to be happening.
The red light is on, on the battery but none of the lights go on on the unit. Its actually kinda weird cuz the power light went on for a few seconds but then went out. I figured maybe there wasn’t a lot of juice in the battery, so I charged it over night, but the end result was the same. I kinda think the light went on for a second or two but that’s it.
Any ideas? It cant be the battery pack as it lights up right? Maybe the unit not accepting the DC voltage??
PS … Actually the battery pack doesn’t sound too good. If you shake it, it sounds like something is loose on the inside.
So maybe the LED part is good ( Showing its getting power ) but it may be broke on the inside. Has anyone had this issue? I am beginning to wonder now why the guy was actually getting rid of it. I think I paid 170.00 or something. Obviously I aint too happy
Guess I could always pick up a new battery pack, but that means ordering, shipping and well WAITING Ughhh Unless there’s something out there in a Radio Shack that would work
Or just forget the battery and use the AC power supply instead.
…yes ya can do that too. That seems to work.
anyone know about how far away the unit can be for it to pair without unplugging it and using the battery?
Just wondering
Depends on the device. I have included hardwired dimmers from 40 feet and several walls away. My door locks needed to be 6 inches away to be added.
I agree with this ^^^^ I never use battery power. 40 feet should be no problem and if you have a strong well covered network a light switch should add from anywhere in the house.
All newer devices in the last few years have “FULL Power inclusion” Which means it can reach as far as it can during it normal working range.
