I’m looking at putting in the Kwikset Deadbolt and was wondering what non locking entry levers are available besides handlesets?
I’m not sure I follow you on this one. What’s the point of a Z_Wave lever that doesn’t lock? What function would you control?
I am thinking of using a zwave deadbolt only. I also looked at using a handleset without the deadbolt because of having the zwave deadbolt. My thinking is that if I use a keyed lever I would have to give my son a key which he might lose.
OK. That makes sense to me now.
Take you pick. I don’t think it really matters. Get any knob or lever, or whatever you like.
I’m using the Kwikset Vedani passage handle set with my Contemp deadbolts. I don’t want something with a lock - my darling little grand kids would probably lock me out by “accident”.
Any issues with using a interior lever on a entry door?
I wasn’t aware that there was a distinction at this level. It’s not like they are hand carved from some exotic soft wood that won’t stand up to the weather. Really most door knobs are basically the same. There are no ball bearings or anything like that in any of them. The differences that are relevant are that many interior knobs have some functionality to unlock them from the outside. This includes the ability to pop the plate off to access the screws that hole the assembly together. If you have a deadbolt it doesn’t matter much from a security standpoint if the potential intruder can remove the knob. Maybe then the could inset some kind of high tech gizmo which would allow them to reach in and throw the bolt. :0
If you’re that concerned about security then you should install a locking lever or knob.
