Node bad - entire network slow

So i had a Jasco light switch lose connection for whatever reason tonight. When i tried to reconfigure, i noticed the entire network got really slow. Is that normal?

I pulled the gap switch out… let it wait a bit, then pushed back in, and all seems fine now.

Yes, this can happen when a device acts up or fails. There are others who experience this as well and pulling the power on the device usually solves this. You are lucky you knew which device it was. Others were not so lucky and had a hard time figuring out what was going on. Most blame Vera for the slow response.

It was easy to find in this case. Son’s bedroom light on a motion timer. Every time my wife tried to turn it off when putting him to bed, it would come immediately back on!

If Vera gave us better (any really) tools for detecting z-wave problems, we wouldn’t be stuck having to curse the whole Vera-based HA project…

(Said as tech support is in my system now trying to figure out why I can’t complete a heal… Logs no help…)
