CAN SOMEONE ADVISE ME ON WHAT I SHOULD DO IF THE Z WAVE LIGHT IS NOT ON WHEN I PLUG IN THE SYSTEM PLEASE.
I AHVE ALSO NOTICED THAT MY WIRELESS INTERNET IS DISCONNECTED WHEN I PLUG IN THE ETHERNET CABLE (although this may just be a coincidence)
I have noticed the Z-Wave light on my Vers2 (UI5) taking longer to come on, but it eventually does. Also, if I use the “Advanced Z-Wave devices” dialog to add/remote, the light won’t come back on, but it is working.
When it brings your wireless down, did you try to change network settings? If you set up Vera as a wifi client, and then connect a cable, it will create a circular route in your network, and mess things up. If you did that, can you check your router/DHCP server to find the IP address that Vera using? Or go to http://micasaverde.com/vera2 and let it scan?
You can also try connecting an ethernet cable from your computer to ETH2, set your computer’s IP address to 192.168.81.2 (mask 255.255.255.0). Then connect to Vera via a web browser, to 192.168.81.1
If you can connect to Vera, go to Setup → Z-Wave settings, and list what you have for Version, House/Node, Role, & Port. Or take a screenshot.
hi thank
thank you for the reply, but i am very new to all this and have no idea what any of that means… i am a complete newbie.
it was working before but it has been un plugged for 2 weeks and now no z wave light.
however, it is not knocking off my wirless internet now.
even my MIOS account cannot find the vera2 and is suggesting ‘setting up’
Have you tried the reset button on the Vera2 to reset it to factory settings? You’ll lose all you setup when you do that though.
What browser are you using? Neither Firefox nor Opera could find my Vera2, but IE8 did. Granted, I have plug-in’s for Firefox and Opera that lock it down tight which may have contributed.
As for the Z-Wave light coming on, mine takes a while as well At least a minute. And even though the WiFi light is not on, I see it’s SSID on my wireless devices
