I have been unable to access my Vera from work today. I just rebooted it and my router last night and I know that my network is up and running because I can get to the web cams and I know Vera is running because it ran a scene (which I could tell because of the webcams).
When I go to MiOS I get the usual “myMiOS systems” page. When I click on “Dashboard” it tries to connect to my local network and then the “Data not loading?” pop up appears.
I submitted a ticket but haven’t heard back yet and was just wondering if anyone else is or has experienced this?
I’ve had that issue a few times and was able to resolve it (remotely) by logging in via ssh and issuing a ‘reboot’ command. I know you mentioned that you power cycled already, but a reboot has restored HTTP access for me when Vera2 was otherwise unresponsive.
You will need to use putty and enter the ip of Vera and choose ssh. The username is ‘root’ and the password is the wi-fi password printed on the bottom of Vera.
I could sure use this method of getting into Vera with full instructions if you ever figure out a link. One of my Vera 1’s running UI2 stopped allowing remote access. It updates to findvera.com with events just fine. I sent a ticket and was told I need to update my firmware. I told them I can’t because I don’t want to lose the ability of setting scheduled door codes on my Schlage locks. No response from them in over a week now to my email response. Under trouble shoot network everything looks good. Even tunnels are okay. I don’t get it and MCV is of no help.
I had been having the same problem since last night – no remote access via mios.com but locally, the UI was running fine. A reboot fixed it within a few minutes.
I thought I was the only one. We got in the car expecting to set everything once we got on the road Dec 22nd. Got an error message like ‘unable to communicate with Vera’ from the smartphone interface. Luckily the cat-sitter went by and was able to unplug and replug Vera about 4pm on the 26th. As of then we are back in business. Just like a earlier poster said that is the first time I have been unable to control Vera remotely since June.
During the same time-frame I was able to help a new Vera owner get configured and was able to view and configure that box remotely.
Before taking Vera2 to my vacation home I used my office computer to do the preliminary setup of cameras. The IP was different on my office network from it’s final address on my vacation home network. My problem is accessing Vera2 remotely from my office computer. I can log in and see the new address, but when I use Dashboard it says “I am trying to connect to your unit using your local network connection. Connecting to your unit, please wait…” and the Dashboard comes up empty.
UI4 is works on other computers. How do I reset my office computer to get Dashboard working on it ???
Hey, I have the same problem, but I’m on vacation. This is a very BIG issue, if you are away from home and you rely on have access to your Vera for control it!!! Is it possible to make a remote reboot through SSH? Currently, my Vera is behind an ADSL router.
I don’t know how do it remotely. When I was in my local network I just use the local IP address, but is it possible from Internet? As I said earlier, Vera is behind a ADSL router, so the public IP address only reaches the router. Any ideas?
Same problem here – cannot access my Vera remotely this wee. But it is sending me notifications, so I know my Vera is alive and able to connect to the Internet. In an effort to prevent this from happening again, I just ordered a timer to power cycle it every night…
I’ve also had this problem several times since yesterday morning … A reboot makes it accessible via mios.com again, but after a few hours it’s back to not being reachable. While unreachable, it’s sending notifications and doing other things that show that it’s alive. If you connect to it locally, the dashboard loads and functions just fine.
I have exactly the same problem, this week I have not been able to logon to Vera remotely (but it works fine through the local network). However, all actions been to be working correctly. UI4 (1.1.1047) has worked flawlessly for 4 months.
