Hi
The orange LED on my Vera Lite is no longer on, and a reboot has not fixed it.
It looks like I can still control existing devices, but I have also been trying to add an EZmotion, it looks like it has not worked successfully.
I’ve tried to exclude and include, but no luck. The orange LED will flash when I press the + or - buttons on the controller and flutter when i try an include or exclude, but it will not stay on afterwards
The last thing I have done is to exclude the EZmotion I tried to add last, however the partial device/node (parent) that was added originally is still there
Very strange. Any ideas?
Has anyone else had or seen this, before I go down the route of MCV support or even a restore.?
you can backup the z-wave network and reset it and put older backup back. if you include it with vera on battery try including it with normal power and internet connected and use high power inclusion. some device cannot operate when added with vera on battery power. for example locks.
the latest beta firmware has new device template for EZmotion. you use this ?

Hi thanks for your thoughts .
The Orange LED I think was actually off before I started the inclusion, but i cant be absolutely sure - plus it’s remained connected to the mains all the time so it’s not even been moved, oh and keep in mind it continues to work normally, (well so it seems.). It’s all very strange…
ah well now that i think of it… you have to delete the device and then exclude with full power and reset the ezmotion and then include it again. first make sure u have latest firmware. 622
Hi Da_JoJo
Interesting advice, although I have to admit I’m curious…
Considering I’ve already excluded the EZMotion sensor already, why would deleting the device and then do a full power exclusion help? I’m not aware that does anything differently to what i have done by pressing the ‘-’ with the sensor next to it. It if it does do something differently please let me know…
Also, I actually saw your feedback on the new public beta 622 the other day, and while it mentions the EZMotion in its release notes (if that was what you were thinking), I already have 4 running well on 408, so the inclusion today of another was not done any differently to the previous ones.
and it is that which is what makes it all the more strange.
Sorry to push you for clarity, it sounds like you have some good suggestions, I’m curious how they are different.
Cheers
i was under the presumation that you had included it again. since it excluded you cannot delete the device from dashboard anymore. thing is if i understand correctly that the device in vera is separate from device in z-wave. so excluding device would delete device from z-wave but not neccesary delete device from vera.
full power inclusion works better for me coz i can set the time-out to 60 secs and i have time to push the buttons. it also includes child-devices and such whereas the battery operated - version only adds simple father-devices.
i suggest to upgrade to 622 beta since scene stuff is fixed > very important as we use it daily
and the EZ got updated and a device description > maybe this fixes the issue of more then 4 device
think it also got another fix for multichannel devices .
dont worry about the push … i also have the desire to learn and know the right facts and procedures in order to make the best use of the device(s)
Good to hear from you again @Da_JoJo
The good news is that the Orange LED is back on this morning, no idea what has made it come back…
That’s my understanding too, however the node (the z-wave identifier) and the device (Vera’s identifier) are I understand linked, so both should be removed during the exclusion process, but you make a good point, maybe a disconnect has occurred. However the orphan ‘device’ has now disappeared.
Now when you say battery operated do you mean, when you have Vera running in portable mode on the batteries. As most of my nodes are battery devices I take them to Vera and included them right next to it, allowing Vera to connected to the mains/internet etc. I then test them as much as i can to ensure they work, before moving them a day or two later to their final location, at which point I then do a ping and update node so it is aware or it’s new surroundings.

I want to, if only because of the potential improvements to the EZmotion, but my Vera does so much now security, heating i wrap it in cotton wool now
- I tested a beta a while back and it caused me more problems so I prefer to wait for the full Public releases and even then I do like to see a number of positive posts from people too
Exactly ! If you don’t ask/challenge how do you learn
I’ll try to include the EZmotion again… Watch this space

i found this is best practice too yes, eliminating lots of errors .. i also use full power-inclusion with 60 secs timeout.

i agree but this time it really is better and sorts out some bugs you are most definatly experienced with creating scenes and devices.

just dont expect answers from others, whereas they cannot have one or just dont know or want money lol

:) hope u succeed. i was planning to buy one but now there is a 4 in 1 aeon so ima take that one i think..
