No Notifications - They've Just Stopped?

Hi

After setting up my system and then being bombarded with notifications, which required me to update those settings under My Account Info, I now no longer receive any notification either by email or under the My Alerts section ?

Not matter what I do, i can not see or receive any triggers from any of my sensors (i have two - motion and a door)

I’ve mentioned this in another post, but for visibility and in case anyone else suffers the same, plus I’ve posted it here with a screenshot.

Thoughts ?

I’ve removed all notifications from the devices themselves, and only have them on the Triggers - still nothing EXCEPT… as i only have the two movement sensors to test against, I decided to add a Virtual Switch to the Device list and have now done exactly the same as the others -

I created a Scene, and when turned on, it would notify me and play a song on the Sonos

This works ! - I receive an email ?!!

So why the h*ll do the scenes with the two Z wave door or movements sensors assigned not notify me or trigger a scene to complete ?

Could there be an issue with the Z-Wave functionality or appliances - as both the Switch and the Sonos Device are Virtual ?

are you sure the motion sensors are actually triggering (detecting motion?) you can tell by looking at the icon, it changes when motion is detected …

I should stress to all I’m still learning - so bear with me :slight_smile:

The door sensor has a red man running icon and the motion sensor has a green man standing icon ?
But I think i did something to change the door sensor to a red man running ?

How are they set ?

If no motion has been detected, the status should show a green running man. If a motion sensor is tripped it should show a red running man. The tripped state should stay for the duration of the next motion sensor status update. You will need to make sure that the motion sensors first function before setting up scenes. It sounds as if the motion sensors are not functioning properly.

How come I’m jumping up and down in front of the motion sensor and that continues to show a green man ?
Is the change from Green to Red man so quick that I would not see it ?
Yet saying that - surly I would expect the notification via email to occur from the trigger i set within the scene ?

How long is that, and what will that do ?

They were working once, but as your confidence grows with Vera/MiOS you obviously start to try to do more things. Scenes were my next adventure :slight_smile:

How would you test a door and a motion sensors, it thought just adding a trigger to notify me when tripped would do it and it did used to work, then my limit was hit and now it won’t notify me…

I’m learning so much, and trying to read the manuals online, but they are not easiest to navigate
