After upgrading to UI7, my Vera seems to have no open ports locally other than 53.
SSH access (which was previously enabled) as well as local web access is gone. Remote access works well.
Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi,
I’ve experienced exactly the same thing yesterday. I’ve upgraded to UI7 a couple of weeks ago, then didn’t do anything with it, and when I tried to connect to the vera (vera Lite) I couldn’t access it. And also the only open ports are 22 and 53.
I tried a hard reset (pushing the reset button for 15 seconds), with no result. The vera gets it’s original ip 192.168.81.1 but no http access?
Not sure what else I can do …?
I experience the same, no local web access, and no SSH.
It was actually my neighbours vera, and after I was out of options I took it home and connected the vera to my own network and immediately port 80 is up and I’m able to access it. I’m now upgrading to latest ui7 firmware, and then I will connect it again to my neighbour’s network. Could it be something on the network causing this?
Guys,
I ran in to the same thing a few days ago, my units updated to UI7, not sure how, but it did on its own.
when I came back a couple days later it was unable to be accessible on the old IP address 192.168.0.xx/cmh_ui6, understandeable since that is for UI6, vera support said I should be able to get to it locally with just the IP tried that and still error cannot get to it on HTTP. 192.168.0.xx. locally.
They also suggested I upgrade from UI7 1.7.318 to 374, I did but when I tried it offered 1.7.388 so thats what I selected.
Now 2 things are broken since the update to 1.7
Thanks,

Hi all,
Can you all send an email to support@getvera.com so we can investigate?
There is a checkbox under:
User & Account Info:
Unit Settings:
Secure your Vera
I turned it on while going through upgrade changes, and managed to forget before noticing the local connection problem. With the help of support, I found it again. It disables all local connections to the unit, which is much more secure, but much less functional.
So… if it’s checked, uncheck it, and you should be fine.
Tried unchecking and it did not work even after a reboot. Then Steve at support advised that the setting was made in an old version and the It was so he changed something remotely on the remote support and tried again and so far I still cannot access my veralite locally.
I am totally baffled as to what else it could be hoping to hear back from support shortly.

note: you can reboot your router to clean all the dhcp server cache if you?re automatic assigned the ip address to all the devices at you network
Support engineer jumped on my device again and finally fixed whatever was stopping local IP access to my device . Thanks George from Vera. So now I can access UI7 interface locally as well

How did you manage to register the Vera again? I just get an error saying “Unit not available for assign”.
Go to Users & Account Info → Unit Settings and uncheck Secure your Vera. This closes down the ports.
I upgraded from UI5 to UI7 yesterday. I was able to access my VL through the Get Vera Portal and was kicked out at various links in the UI. It was very buggy but mostly working. Now I have no access through the get vera portal but I do have access through my LAN.
Q, Do I need to create a new account at getvera.com to access the VL through getvera, com?

If you can the vera to access locally on lan after unchecking secure your vera, then you likely need to open a support ticket with Vera. They had to do something on the unit for me.

Just got off the phone with tech support. When upgrading to UI7 You do need to create a new account on the www.getvera.com side. You can use the same user name but you have to use a different password than what was used in your old UI5. Once I changed it I was able to access the VL/UI7 without problem.
I think that there is a new bug (at least since 7.0.3) which disables local access (regardless of the setting of the “Secure my Vera” option) if you go into the net/wifi settings manually configure mode. Has anyone been able to get this to work recently? A tech support request has gone unanswered.

I upgraded two weeks ago from UI5 to UI7 7.1.513. No issues on accessing the VL locally.
Hi, I’m having the same issue, after I upgraded from UI5 to UI7 I can no longer get remote access to my device, and none of my apps (IOS) work… Did you resolve your issue?
Thanks
Matt
