Newbie is at the end of his rope!

Ok, so I called Vera tech support hoping to get some HELP to do the simplest things like create a scene and make a lamp turn ON. I get a tech that is too difficult to understand after a few questions from him I had to say GOODBYE and hangup. WTF!

I post several HELP needed without responses on trying to get the simplest operations setup in the Vera3 UI5 but no help here either. This is the worst product I have ever had to deal with and I’m very sorry I paid my hard earned cash to buy this P.O.S.

How anyone can say this product is ready for consumer use is beyond me.

I can’t help you with the remote but link looked pretty good to me.

Assuming you already paired the lamp outlet, all you have to do is create a new scene for it.
For the schedule, you can choose sunset for the timer. Then where it says “immediate”, that’s where you go to the outlet and select on. Then click on “immediate” then manage delays. Select your second time like 5 hours and add then save. Go back to where it says immediate a select your new delay (5 hours) in this example. Now go back to your outlet and select off. Confirm changes and save.

I know there’s a bit of a learning curve with this but you just have to keep reading in here and learning how this stuff works. There are easier systems out there but they are a lot more expensive. Hang in there…

Thanks for the reponse.

The outlet is included into Vera3.

How do you create a scene in Vera3 UI5. This entire product is just an escaped lab experiment.

How do I turn ON the lamp at DUSK and OFF at (11pm) in Vera3-UI5? Can you provide a step-by-step and don’t assume anything.

Here are you scene directions:

UI5 → Automation → New Scene
Name: can be whatever you want, like “Light On”
Room: can be in whatever room you want
Devices tab: click “on” for the light(s) you want
Schedules tab:
Click “Add schedule”
Choose “Day of week based”
Click checkbox for any/all days that you want the schedule for
For “Time” choose “At sunset”
Click Done
Click “Confirm Changes” (green button near upper right)
Click “Save” (red button near upper right)

Wait for Vera to restart/reconfigure.

You can test either scene by going to the “Automation” tab, and clicking “Run.” That should turn the light on and off. Then you can go do “Dashboard” tab, then “Overview”…scroll to “Upcoming schedules” and you should see when Vera plans to run your new scenes.

I’ll post instructions in your other thread on the 45601.

docs5.mios.com for documentation.

Pretty simple to create a scene.
Click on Automation Tab → new scene (this is the ‘on’ scene)
select your device you want and click on.
Click on Schedules → add schedule
(name your schedule) then click on “Day of the week” based
Select all the days you want (i.e. m-f) then the time for you would be sunset.
Save

Create another scene (this is the off portion)
select off on your device
Click schedules → add schedule
Day of the week…
Time is 11pm
Save.

Done!

Thanks guys, great quick examples to get up and running!

You should be paid for having to create the documentation for this Vera3 thing.

Why can’t Vera have samples of what you guys just presented in their on-line excuse for information.

How long did it take you to create that bit of great how-to info in your post?, not long I bet. So why can’t a Micasaverde person do the same?

I have printed out postings and UI5 documentation scattered all over my desk trying to get this thing to work.

There is NO excuse for those who DESIGN and sell this product to dump this crap on unknowing customers.

This product is a SAD JOKE! If it wasn’t for the helpful members of this forum Vera would be GONE. :o
