Hello,
I just received the Aeotec doorbell, but whenever I pair it with my VeraPlus, it shows up as a lightbulb. I tried messing around with the device name and so on, but I can’t get it to recognize it as a doorbell/chime. Also, even when it does pair (as a light bulb), it keeps telling me it can’t set security up.
What am I doing wrong? Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance!
I have the same thing on ui5.
The problem n part is the unit doesn’t report the button presses by default. You have to add a configuration ( parameter number 80 (1 byte) from 0 (nothing) to 1 (hail CC) or 2 (basic CC report)) not sure which ui7 will prefer.
I believe on/off is the status, not bell ringing.
If you need the luup to manage it, options are here

Thanks for the link!! I will see about changing the tune…
I have another issue, whereas I have my Vera Plus set to trigger this doorbell when a door or window is opened. I get significant delay (up to 15 seconds) or no trigger at all and hence no doorbell to notify me that a door or window has been opened.
Is this the doorbell? The Vera Plus? The Vision ZD2102-5 (monoprice sells them under generic) Sensors? Something else.like the location of the Vera Plus or configuration of the mesh network? I have several sensors on various windows and doors on the ground floor of the house and the doorbell itself, all within pretty close proximity of each other.
Maybe this should be in another thread and if that is the case I’m not sure where as I’m new to home automation but very experienced with computers and networks… and techie forums. You’ll find me posting all the time at avsforum and thegreenbutton forum…
First try rebuilding the network. Although I thought the plus did a heal every 2am so that may not do much.
Then use the “update neighbor node” option on the sensors and doorbell to make sure the routing really updated.
After that
-add a text/email notification on the sensor to verify it trips. Or install datamine to monitor the events over time.
-point the scene/PLEG at a different device, like a lamp. See if that triggers reliably.

Thanks!!
The sensors are triggering reliably as I configured Vera Notifications and I get them almost instantly. The problem seems to be that the signal is getting delayed in processing or lost altogether getting from the sensors to the door bell.
I saw datamine in the plug in store. I will go grab it and see what that tells me and report back.
As far as pointing the scene, I’m not sure what you mean but I think you mean to trigger some other action instead. I did grab one switch controller while I was shopping at monoprice to fill out the cart and take advantage of a $20 off $100 code I had so I’ll give that a try too and see what happens there.
I’ve seen other postings of people having issues with the AEOTEC doorbell but I’ve seen others doing pretty cool stuff with it too and I don’t give up. Systematic troubleshooting beforehand!
I need a little more explanation on rebuilding the network and updating the neighbor node. Right now I have a separate scene for each room and/or sensor but that is probably excessive anyhow so I may consolidate that now that I know a little more about programming the Vera using UI7.
I should mention that as time went by things seemed to smooth out a little better yesterday but there still was missed ques and delayed triggers of the doorbell, just not as often. Maybe my network is still figuring itself out so to speak?
Okay. I installed Data Mine but need to hook up a USB Drive to it to store the data it is mining it seems.
