I am researching getting Zwave system. I really want an exterior camera that I can pan. It will be mounted on our farm house and I want to be able to check out the the out buildings. There are so many cameras that I am totally confused. Any suggestions from you.
When doing your research understand that most if not all cameras are not zwave. They work with vera and other systems that are zwave but the cameras are usually ether net connected or wifi. I didn’t understand this at first. Cameras will have their own ip just so we are clear there. You couldn’t control a camera and stream using the zwave radio frequency. Back to your question I would tell you to look into some security cameras that are outdoor, high definition, and pan tilt. Tiger direct has a lot. You can just use a stand alone app like ip cam viewer because the vera app is slower transmission rate. However see which of those cameras are compatible on Veras site. Outdoor although frequently asked is less common to work out of the box with vera. Other zwave systems may support more. It will require more research.
