New VERA2 UI4 or UI5 - need squeezebox plugin working?

Hi All,
So I have ordered a VERA2 and the supplier I have purchased from is shipping all Vera2’s with UI5 however I have been doing some homework and it appears that it may not be really ready for mass market so before I get this device and start adding all my z-wave devices I was wondering if I should firstly downgrade it.

I dont have a huge estate currently so once a stable UI5 comes along I will be happy to restore all factory settings and start again.

The main reason I went for Vera was the squeezebox plugin so I need this to work from day 1, I’ve struggled to really understand what plugins work with what UI.

anyone have any thoughts on this?

If it is in deed a Vera 2 and not a Vera 3, you can downgrade to UI4. If it is a Vera 3, you are stuck with UI5. Plugins are slowly being updated for UI5 integration.

It is a vera2, who is in charge for migrating the plugins? the original developer or MCV? my vera hasn’t even ben shipped yet and i noticed that the vera3 lite has been announced which I am actually tempted by as is cheaper and more powerful, i already own router and wifi AP so those feature’s are going to be redundant!!

although with all the trouble maybe I am better of with the functionality to downgrade to UI4

Usually it is the developer of the plugin. However, MCV has been updating some of them, but not all of them. If you can wait for the Vera 3 Lite and take a chance that the plugin will eventually be converted over, I would go that route.

Squeezebox plugin is the deal breaker for me I think so can’t take the chance I dont think. Wll try and get it running when I receive the Vera and then I can make a call I guess. It may come in handy with range with it being wireless.
