I’ve been a happy user of a Vera lite for some time now and thinking about getting another for a second location. I was wondering if it might be wise to get a Vera3 to replace the current lite and move the latter to the new location. Can I just put in the Vera 3, restore a backup of the lite and get going? Or will I have to set everything up from scratch, that would be a big hurdle and probably not worth the trouble.
Unless you need the WiFi, why not just another VeraLite ?
I have two, and although I had to get MCV Support to bridge them successfully,
they work a treat together now.
I don’t need the wifi, I’ve just been adding a lot of sensors, plugins and scenes and worried I might be running into limits soon. To be honest I haven’t seen any performance problems yet but, as I’m buying anyway, now is the time to make the right choice. Can’t really find any solid info on when a vera lite is not enough anymore.
I have 25 modules (Fibaro + TKB sockets) and 6 battery controllers (MiniMote / Duewi wall switch), a few plug-ins, and a bridge to a second VeraLite… all seems to work OK, performance-wise.
