New User Purchase Info

I have been looking at home automation solutions for many months now and I’ve pretty much decided to go with the Vera 2. The support here in the forums seems excellent and the product itself seems more flexible than any of the other offerings out there that I’ve seen.

My question is relatively simple; where is a good place to purchase a Vera 2 starter bundle in the USA?

I’ve seen bundles from various sites, but I’m always hesitant to purchase from new Internet retailers that I’ve never heard of before. So what companies do you all purchase from?

Additionally; If anyone has any suggestions on a starter bundle and what I should pick up to get going, that would be MOST helpful.

Personally I would recommend asihome.com, they know what they are talking about and I know others on the forum have also said good things.
I am not sure what bundles are available, but I would hurry to a local Radio Shack or visit RadioShack.com Official Site - America's Technology Store, and like me you’ll end up with more GE Zwave than you know what to do with!

I’ve been poking around asihome.com now for a while and pretty much have found everything I need.

I also checked out my local Radio Shack stores and none of them sell Z-wave equipment. That’s a disappointment as those prices looked pretty good. Perfect for an impulse buy. :slight_smile:

When I was young, maybe 22 years ago, I was given a whole bunch of Leviton X10 gear. I ended up replacing just about all the lighting switches in my parents house as well as put in a heavy-duty appliance module for our pool filter. All these years later I finally want to put this stuff in my OWN house.

They have a fairly limited selection but they all work together which is nice. They shipped next business day and I had it in two days as I am within the UPS 2 Day ground area. The 10-20% discount depending on your package is quite nice as well!
